Love is a refuge for the weak, lonely and needy. Once she was like that herself - but no longer. Recovering from a turbulent, tormented childhood, she has reinvented herself as Chrissie: strong, self-reliant and firmly in control. She is everything she ever wanted to be and nothing will ever be allowed to threaten that. But she is also human. Now, to get everything she ever wanted, she would resort to lying, deception, robbery, and Rule uses her characteristic insight and exclusive access to the facts to create a gripping portrait of that rarity in crime -- a female sociopath. /5(5).

Joined in a romantic love that most people only ever dream about, Pat Taylor's marriage to Tom Allanson was all she ever wanted. Both came from fine Southern families, and both longed to recreate for themselves a plantation where they would raise horses, grow roses, and move with grace and style in the highest social circles of Atlanta; in short, to be the Scarlett O'Hara and Rhett Butler of /5(59). Instead, she finds the perfect man. Too bad he’s too young for her Set amidst the enchanting landscape of Taos, New Mexico, Everything She Ever Wanted is a contemporary romance that explores one woman’s search for the things that really matter, like love and family, and where losing her way turns out to be the best prescription to.

WAS SHE A SWEET SOUTHERN CHARMER? OR A COLD-BLOODED KILLER? For their wedding portrait, petite Pat Taylor and handsome Tom Allanson posed as Rhett and Scarlett. Both came from fine Southern families, and dreamed of the Tara-like plantation where they would grow roses, raise horses, and move in the genteel circles of Atlanta society. The basic storyline was very good; but there was far too much family background to muddle through. Ann Rule is one of my favorite authors but she missed the mark on this one/5(2).

Everything She Ever Wanted is an older woman/younger man romance—but so much more. It has a well thought out plot and fully developed characters, especially Harlow and Dax. It touches on the truth that powerful men are believed and trusted over women, regardless of their stature.

She wanted to tell me about Mr. Allanson signing a confession to the murder of Walter and Carolyn. Of course it was a terrible shock to me to think that such had been done She said she had a terrible time getting him to sign it because he thought if he lived through this, they couldn't pin anything on him.
